Is Israel an Ally or Enemy of the United States?

It is unquestionable that the Israeli-American relationship is completely one sided. America gives Israel billions of dollars in aid, lucrative contracts, and tens of billions worth of valuable military equipment the Pentagon labels “scrapped.” America also gives billions in peripheral aid and military equipment to Israel’s neighbors to keep them friendly with Israel. America’s involvement in the Middle East peace process and our support for Israel has made us a target for terrorist attacks, including the attack on September 11, 2001. Even though the media failed to report it, the 9-11 terrorists actually made videos stating their reasons for committing the terrorist attack, which was a retaliatory strike due to America’s support of Israel. America has also paid for this “alliance”  by sacrificing our liberties in the Patriot Act, NDAA Act, and the Military Commissions Act to protect us from future Israeli motivated terrorist attacks.

So what do we get back in return? In 1967, Israel purposefully attacked our military ship, the USS Liberty, with the intention of murdering every sailor on board and then blaming the attack on Egypt so America would enter the Israeli-Arab War. In the modern day equivalent to the USS Liberty attack, the FBI concluded that Israel must have had knowledge of the terrorist plot on Sept. 11, 2001 and failed to warn the US because they wanted our support in the Middle East. To substantiate this, 5 Mossad (Israeli CIA) agents were actually caught filming the attacks and then celebrating afterwards. In addition, Israeli Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu said, “We are benefitting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq.” He also said, “these events have swung American public opinion in our favor.”

The London Times now reports that Israel will give the US no more than 12 hrs notice before attacking Iran. After all that America has done and sacrificed for Israel, they will give their “closest ally” no more than 12 hrs notice before commencing an action that would send global oil prices skyrocketing and surely cause future terrorist attacks against America. So what exactly does America get for the billions of dollars of aid and the trillions spent fighting Israel’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? With allies like these, who needs enemies?
