Aside from the obvious advantages that Ron Paul brings to the presidential race like ideological consistency, a lack of baggage, and an intellectual capacity that drowns out his competitors, Paul has some structural advantages in the Iowa caucus that should lead to a victory speech. For starters, Ron Paul has some of the most aggressive and passionate supporters of any of the candidates in the Republican primary as well as the best ground game in politics. This should not only ensure a large turnout, but also a wide variety of speakers at the Iowa caucus that will confidently campaign on his behalf.
In addition, Ron Paul has the ability to bring in Independents who can actually register as a Republican and vote on the same night as the caucus. Most importantly, Ron Paul supporters have been battle hardened by the years of negative publicity from the mainstream media. In other words, Ron Paul supporters are not going to be convinced by a few Iowa caucus speakers if they have waded through years of media propaganda. What is likely however is that supporters of other candidates and undecided voters can be swayed to support Paul when they learn the truth about the media spin from dedicated and intelligent caucus speakers.
